Hey All Island Martial Arts family and community members! Welcome to our November newsletter. In this newsletter, we’re going to walk you through everything happening this month, so feel free to catch all the details.
- Halloween Family Party (November 1st): We’re hosting a Halloween Family Party on November 1st. Please register early. We need about 8 to 10 families minimum and a maximum of 25 people. It’s a fun Halloween-themed event, and everyone is welcome.
- Schedule Changes (Starting November 3rd): Starting November 3rd, we’re updating our Monday schedule. Higher-rank kids remain at 5:15 PM, the Little Tiger Paws class is removed on Mondays, the white-to-yellow belt kids move to 6:00 PM, and adults start at 6:45 PM.
- Conference Closure (November 13th-17th): From November 13th to the 17th, All Island Martial Arts will be closed for the Eastern USA Martial Arts Conference and Black Belt Hall of Fame. During this conference, Soke Michael Hutchings and some of our students will be training with grandmasters from around the world and participating in the Hall of Fame events. This is a truly special opportunity—Soke Michael always recommends that students try to attend at least once in their martial arts journey because it’s an incredible chance to learn from top instructors, make new friends, and build lifelong connections. While this year’s registration is already closed, if you’re interested in the 2026 event, just let Soke Michael know. It’s something he looks forward to every year, and it’s a fantastic experience to share.
- Social Media: Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, LinkedIn, and YouTube to stay connected.
- We Need Your Help: As a small business, we’d love your support by leaving us ratings on Yelp, Google, and Facebook. These reviews help others find us online, and it really boosts our visibility.
- Technique of the Month: This month, we’re focusing on the front kick (Ap Chagi), a fundamental Taekwondo technique with ancient roots.
- Fun Fact: Taekwondo has been practiced for over 2,000 years and became an Olympic sport in 2000.
- Joke: Why did the scarecrow become a black belt? Because he was outstanding in his field!
